Our Mission
At EcoMiles, we believe that fitness and environmental stewardship are two sides of the same coin. By adopting Plogging, we hope to reclaim and raise awareness about our green spaces on top of growing Singapore's fitness community and to ultimately create a thriving and lasting youth-led community shaping the next generation of civic leaders.
The EcoMiles Story
EcoMiles started as just another idea: what if one could integrate jogging with picking up litter? "Plogging", jogging while picking up litter, had already been embraced by other passionate runners.
For Co-Founder Michael, as well as runners all around the world, Sunday was a rest day. Michael decided to give plogging a shot. By the first couple of sessions Michael, alongside EcoMiles' Advisor, Ray, knew that EcoMiles had potential to become a tradition for runners.
By the fourth session, Michael had invited his cross-country teammate Sam, EcoMiles' Co-Founder, to the plog -- Sundays are also his rest day!
From then on, session-by-session, EcoMiles grew, with friends, families, and locals all instilling a passion for plogging. EcoMiles had not only been a weekly cleanup event -- it had become an open community.
And the rest his history!
